Rat

It’s a lot more common than people think for rats to get into your home and it is often no reflection of the condition of the home. We have had to deal with rat problems in everything from mobile homes to multi million euro homes and everything in between.

Rats most commonly coming from your waste water system and have no idea what sort of a house it is until they are in.

Mice

Mice are even more common in people’s homes than rats. Mice nearly always make their way into a house at ground level on the outside and work their way through the wall cavity and the first the homeowner knows about it is there hearing noises in the attic. Grain of rice size droppings.

Bed Bugs

Bed bugs can be found on buses, trains, and airplanes,  taxis , boats , guest houses , B&B’s , 1 star Hotels and 5 Star Hotels.

If you do get bed bugs a pest control treatment will definitely be needed in one form or another. Even replacing the bed and mattress may not resolve the problem as bed bugs are great at hiding and spread around the room .

Ant

Ants are seasonal pests. We can treat as they appear and keep them under control no problem but they can return next year as the area can always be infested from outside your property.

In Ireland the main two ants we see is black garden ants and red ants. Red ants bite black ants do not bite.

Wasps

Wasp activity doesn’t start till at least July.  If you see a large wasp at the start of the year, it’s probably a female after coming out of sleep over the winter looking for a warm spot to come back to life and a place to start a nest for this year.

Moths common clothes moth

It’s essential to be proactive when trying to gain control of a  clothes moth infestation, as they can cause significant damage to your clothing and carpets and any other fabrics containing any percentage of wool. Keratin is what the clothes moth larva feeds on and is in wool, hair and our nails amongst many other sources. insecticide and heat can be used to control moths. It is most commonly found in dark hard to reach places, for example under furniture and under beds.

Cockroaches

Cockroaches are resilient pests that can be challenging to eliminate once they infest your home. Silverfish

Silverfish are attracted to damp and humid environments. Take steps to reduce moisture:

Fix any leaks or water damage in your home. Use dehumidifiers in damp areas like basements and bathrooms.Ensure proper ventilation in these areas to reduce humidity.

Bird Mite

Bird mite is one of the most common biting insects in Ireland. They come from starlings and swallow nests amongst many other sources.

They are tiny red insects that look like very small spiders  and are very nocturnal so they can be very hard to find. The best way to find them is a night insection on walls around air vents and skirting boards.

Plaster Beetle

The Pictures above are of a False widow found on one of our technicians vans. They have become very common in every corner of Ireland and are by far the worst spider bite that can be found in Ireland.

They are also an invasive species.
